EmiratesLNG LLC is a joint venture company formed in 2012 on a 50:50 basis by Mubadala Petroleum and the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC).

The company was established to meet the country’s increasing need for efficient, secure and clean energy.

The initial task of EmiratesLNG is to build the UAE's first, and the Middle East's largest, land-based regasification terminal, which will be strategically located on the East Coast of UAE at Fujairah. The new terminal will facilitate the import of LNG from around the world (9 million tons of LNG per annum) and will be able to supply an average of 1.2 billion standard cubic feet (Bcf) per day of natural gas to the country's power sector.

The facility will provide an additional, reliable supply of natural gas to the pipeline network, reducing the nation’s dependency on the alternative fossil fuels and, in turn, its carbon footprint.
